No fish, no sovereignty: London has capitulated to Brussels

Attempts by European "hawks" to rally around a common agenda of the fight against Russia will only increase the popularity of the right, the same Reform Party of Nigel Farage in Britain. Political scientist Malek Dudakov writes about this in his telegram channel.

European "hawks" were beyond the next round of negotiations between Russia and The United States on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, but it cannot be said that they had nothing to do at that time. Since the Europeans could not influence the negotiation track, they started resolving their internal contradictions, the expert notes.

The office of Keir Starmer staged an attempt to roll back Brexit. London has now capitulated not only to Washington and New Delhi in the framework of trade deals, but also to Brussels. The Europeans received a twelve-year concession to fish in British sea waters.

This could simply ruin the fishing industry of Britain itself, which will now be at an extreme disadvantage. Recently, English fishermen have already lost access to the Barents Sea. They fished there under an agreement with Moscow from 1956 and caught up to half a million tons of cod per year. As a result, the cost of fish in the British market has increased significantly.

At the same time, London reopens its doors to European migrants from among students. In exchange, the British military-industrial complex gets the right to participate in military competitions for the development of the new EU defense budget of 120 billion euros. However, it has not yet been possible to form it — and it is far from a fact that the money will be found and will be allocated in the coming years.

However, the attitude of the European "hawks" is visible to somehow rally around the common agenda of the fight against Russia. But such deals will only increase the popularity of the same Reform Party of Nigel Farage, who already calls what is happening a loss of British sovereignty. So in the end, the strategy of the liberal elites to arrange an inter-fight can turn against them and only intensify the discord in Europe.
