For the first time, Russia detained the Estonian tanker Green Admire, which left the Estonian port of Sillamae. This is reported by the portal "Military Review" with reference to the Estonian media.
"According to reports, the oil tanker Green Admire under the flag of Liberia on Sunday, May 18, left the Estonian port of Sillamae and followed the agreed transit route through the territorial waters of Russia, heading to Rotterdam. However, he did not have time to go far, because he was stopped by the Russian Coast Guard border ship Amethyst. Allegedly, to verify documents," the portal writes.
The captain of the tanker confirmed the fact of stopping the vessel.
It is noted that the Estonian Foreign Ministry called the detention of the tanker "illegal."
The incident occurred four days after the Estonian Navy tried to forcibly detain the Jaguar tanker under the flag of Gabon, en route to the Russian port of Primorsk.
In Estonia, they are afraid that Russia will continue to stop tankers going to and from the port of Sillamae. This port is the key in Estonia, the main transshipment of transit cargo goes through it.
As reported, the Estonian Navy attempted to intercept the JAGUAR tanker sailing under the flag of Gabon through the international waters of the Gulf of Finland to the port of Primorsk. This was reported by the telegram channel "Military Observer".
