The truce announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War for the period from 00.00 Moscow time on May 8 to 00.00 Moscow time on May 11 has come to an end.
On May 10, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had not stopped fighting, despite the announcement of a truce, in particular, more than 9.3 thousand violations were recorded.
On April 28, Putin declared a truce on the days of the 80th anniversary of the Victory. Then the Kremlin noted that Russia was once again demonstrating its desire to carry out peaceful negotiations without preconditions related to the elimination of the original causes of the Ukrainian crisis.
This truce was the third since the start of the special military operation (SMO). The first was announced in 2023 in honor of Christmas, and the second in honor of Easter in April 2025.
