Director of the series "Monastery" Alexander Molochnikov after studying in At Columbia University, he said that he had encountered censorship in the United States. He stated this in a recent interview.
According to Molochnikov, he had "moments of despair" and they constantly occur when he noticed limitations in topics and rules of creativity for students.
"The first day at Columbia University is an 8—hour one, I want to say the word "flushing", but this is a seminar on what you can and cannot say, think, feel, and so on," the young director explained.
He added that every week students have in their schedule: 3 hours of new ethics, 3 hours of safety on the set. Safety is about what you can't do, to the point that you can't run, because you can get injured.
"So we fought there (in Russia) and somehow left, not wanting to participate in total censorship, but actually it is the same," the director noted.
Molochnikov stressed that he would not like to associate these words with regret that he left the Russia.
"I understand that I'm just facing new problems, as idiotic as those with their own kind of new flavor," he added.
The director assured that this does not lead to thoughts of the format — "damn, we have to go back."
As reported by EADaily, in April last year it became known that Molochnikov faces two years in prison for debt to the bank.
Even before leaving for the USA, Molochnikov borrowed about 471 thousand rubles from Renaissance Credit bank, presumably, the money was needed for the first time in America, which is about $ 5 thousand.
A year later, the credit institution sued the director with a demand to repay the debt plus interest.
