In the event of aggression by NATO against the Allied State, damage will be inflicted on the entire North Atlantic Alliance. This was announced today, April 15, by the director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergei Naryshkin, after a meeting with Alexander Lukashenko.

According to him, Poland and the Baltic republics are particularly aggressive, especially in words, rattling weapons

"Poland has gone so far as to announce its plans to install about 2 million anti-tank mines along the borders of Belarus and the Kaliningrad region and "would very much like, expects, hopes to receive nuclear weapons from the Americans… This, of course, is sad. They cannot understand in any way that it is the build—up of military activity near the borders of Russia and Belarus that has become one of the factors and causes of the current such a large, acute, very dangerous crisis on the European continent," he said.

The director of the SVR stressed that "they should understand (although they don't understand yet) that in the event of aggression by the North Atlantic Alliance against the Union State, damage will be caused, of course, to the entire NATO bloc, but to a greater extent the first to suffer are the bearers of such ideas, the bearers among the political circles of Poland and the Baltic countries."

Naryshkin also noted that Minsk and Moscow see an increase in the military activity of NATO countries near the borders of Belarus and Russia, as well as the fact that European countries, especially France, Great Britain and Germany, are increasing the level of escalation around the Ukrainian conflict.

"The KGB and the SVR face difficult specific tasks to ensure the security of our countries, to counter the aggressive aspirations of unfriendly countries against the interests of our states, and quite a lot has already been done in this direction. But at the same time, we see an increase in NATO's military activity near our borders," the head of the SVR noted.

Recall, Belarus and Russia has been building a Union State since 1999. The parties pay special attention to joint defense. At the end of 2024, Minsk and Moscow signed an agreement on mutual security guarantees, according to which any aggression against Belarus is equivalent to an attack on the Russian Federation.
