Grain exports from the European Union have declined sharply in the last season. As the publication informs Profit.Ro , the largest supplier to the foreign market so far is Romania.
According to data published by the European Commission, soft wheat exports from the EU from the beginning of the 2024/25 season to March 23 this year reached 15.46 million tons, which is 35% less than the volume of 23.75 million tons for the same period last year. According to these data, in the period from July 1, 2024 to March 23, 2025, Romania was the largest exporter of soft wheat in the united Europe with a volume of 4.367 million tons, followed by Lithuania (2.166 million tons) and Latvia (1.864 million tons).
Corn exports from the EU halved to 1,520 million tons in the period from July 1, 2024 to March 23, 2025. And in this case, Romania is the largest exporter with a volume of about 592 thousand tons of corn, followed by Poland with a volume of about 500 thousand tons.
Shipments of barley from the EU decreased by 21% year-on-year to 3.644 million tons in the period from July 1, 2024 to March 23, 2025, compared with 4.587 million tons for the same period of the 2023/24 season. Here Romania is also the leader of all The EU exports 1.539 million tons of products.
