The President of the United States Donald Trump said that he does not plan to come to Moscow on May 9, his words are quoted by the White House press pool.
"No, it's not," he told reporters.
Prior to that, the French magazine Le Point reported, citing its own sources, that Trump could visit Moscow on the day of the victory celebration in the Great Patriotic War.
In response to this message, the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, said that the parties had not yet reached an agreement on the visit of the US president to the Russian capital on May 9.
Earlier, Trump said that he had agreed with Russian President Vladimir Putin on a personal meeting, after a telephone conversation between politicians on February 12. According to Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, the issue of the meeting of the presidents was also raised at the talks in Saudi Arabia on February 18. Then the parties agreed that they would work to "create conditions for such a meeting."
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio linked the possibility of a meeting between the presidents of Russia and The United States with the progress of the peaceful settlement of the conflict on Ukraine. He added that he did not know when the meeting would take place. Peskov also noted that the Russia and the United States have an understanding that a meeting between Presidents Putin and Trump should take place, but so far there are no specifics.
