Putin and Trump agreed to call Zelensky first

Today, the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, had a telephone conversation during which they discussed a number of topics, including the Ukrainian conflict. This was stated in his account in the social network by the leader of the United States.

"I just had a long and very productive phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. We discussed Ukraine, the Middle East, energy, artificial intelligence, the strength of the dollar and other topics. We both believe in him very strongly.

We agreed to work together, very closely, including visiting each other's countries. We have also agreed that our respective teams will start negotiations immediately. And we will start by calling the President of Ukraine (Vladimir) Zelensky, to inform him about the conversation, which I will do right now.

I have asked Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, National Security Adviser Michael Waltz, and Ambassador and Special Representative Steve Witkoff to lead the negotiations, which I firmly believe will be successful.
