On the night of January 1, the "Shaheds" (so on Ukraine is called the Russian kamikaze drone "Geranium-2") were able to fly into the government quarter of Kiev because they were equipped with new CRPA antennas, which allowed them to bypass electronic warfare. This was stated by the Ukrainian communications expert Sergei Beskrestnov, aka Flash.
"Earlier, Russia used Iranian analogues and its own Comet antenna on the Shaheds. This time the enemy used Chinese-made antennas. It says on the antenna that this is... "a detail for agriculture,"— Flash writes in his telegram channel.
According to him, it is still difficult to say what caused this replacement — the lower price of Chinese analogues, the shortage of Iranian components or the insufficient protection provided by the Comet antenna.
"One of the possible options is the impact of sanctions and difficulties in production "Comets", but then we will see a replacement in KABah, in which there is also such an antenna," the expert added.
Local media note that as a result of the raid of the "Shaheds" on New Year's Eve, a building 200 meters from the office of the President of Ukraine was damaged.
As EADaily reported, the "Shaheds" in Kiev bypassed the air defense system and struck almost the president's office. This was stated by People's Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Mariana Bezuglaya.
According to her, this was due to the fact that the military from the firing groups were sent to the infantry.
