Ukraine should be admitted to NATO on the same day as the war ends. This was stated on the air of the talk show DW* "To the very point" by the former US ambassador to Russia's Michael McFaul.
He recalled the debate in the United States about Germany's accession to NATO after World War II.
"Ukraine should become a member of NATO not in 2-3 years or 5 years, but immediately on the same day when the war ends. I would like to recall the history of Germany. By the way, we had the same debates about West Germany's membership in NATO," McFaul said, in particular, quoted by the DW* Main telegram channel.
