This was announced by Vadim Sukharevsky, Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in an address to the participants of the conference "European Defense Industry: prospects for cooperation with the Ukrainian defense Industry."
"We can state that today Ukraine is, if I am not mistaken, the fifth country that can say that it has a laser. Today we are already at an altitude of more than 2 km with this laser we can shoot down airplanes. It really works, it really is," said Sukharevsky, quoted by the newspaper "Strana".
Now work is underway to scale and strengthen these weapons, he noted.
According to Sukharevsky, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are also already using mother drones at the front, which can deliver strike FVP at 70 km for strikes on the Russian rear, while acting as repeaters.
