German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier is holding talks, including on the issue of early elections, with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and the head of the opposition CDU Friedrich Merz. This is reported by the telegram channel "Daddy Chancellor" with reference to FAZ.
"A FAZ source confirms that German President Steinmeier is talking with (so far) acting Chancellor and head of the opposition CDU Friedrich Merz. Separately. Tete-a-tete are devoted to both the formation of a minority government and the issue of early elections. A confidential meeting with the opposition is supposed to take place tonight. This information was confirmed in the party of Mutti Merkel (ex-Chancellor Angela Merkel. — EADaily). It seems that the prank with the collapse of the coalition is getting out of control," writes TK.
As EADaily reported, most of the German citizens expressed dissatisfaction with the work of the ruling Traffic Light coalition (SPD, Greens, FDP). This follows from the results of a survey among more than 1.2 thousand people conducted by the INSA sociological Institute commissioned by the Bild am Sonntag newspaper.
According to him, 85% of respondents are dissatisfied with the current government of Germany. Only 14% of Germans rate the work of the Traffic Light coalition positively.
