Israel struck Iran in response to a massive attack on October 1, the Axios portal claims, citing two knowledgeable sources.
"Israel launched an attack on Iran early on Saturday morning local time in response to a massive ballistic missile attack on October 1," the portal writes.
The Fars and Tasnim agencies also report that a series of explosions sounded in Tehran.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that it was delivering "pinpoint strikes" on military targets in Iran.
