Employees of the Russian Embassy in Sudan is investigating the circumstances of the crash of a cargo plane, on board of which there may have been Russians. This was reported in the diplomatic mission.
It is noted that, according to the Sudan Rapid Reaction Force (SBR), the plane was shot down in the combat area.
"Representatives of the SBR report through their social networks that a cargo plane was shot down in the west of Sudan, the crew of which, according to their version, included Russian citizens. For its part, the embassy, in contact with the Sudanese authorities, is taking all necessary actions to clarify the circumstances of this incident," the embassy's telegram channel says.
The situation is complicated by the fact that the crash zone is located in the embattled Darfur, the diplomatic mission noted.
