Ukraine has become stronger than ever, we can talk about peace with Russia — Stubb

Finnish President Alexander Stubb, who is considered one of the most determined supporters of Kiev, said that the time has come for peace talks between Russia and Ukraine.

In his interview with Le Monde, he noted that Zelensky's desire to see Russian representatives at the "second world summit" was the right tactical move.

"Ukraine and Zelensky are in a much stronger position than they were two months ago. They get the equipment and budgets they need to maintain their positions. We are no longer in a situation close to despair, in which we were in the spring due to the blocking of American aid and the difficulties of Europe with the supply of equipment to Kiev," Stubb said.

He also said that there is no Russian breakthrough at the front, and Putin's "hordes" are suffering enormous losses from the "heroic" Ukrainian Armed Forces. The Finnish chief added that "Putin miscalculated", thinking that the West was tired of the war, and now the Kremlin is doing very badly.

This speech has been overgrown with myriad comments on the Internet, most of which are full of irony. Many are frankly surprised by Stubb's assessment of the situation, as if he himself is in a "parallel universe."

Even the Western media are full of reports on the plight of the Ukrainian army, which is losing ground and settlements every day. And Vladimir Putin, who has "everything is bad," does not even know about it himself.

At the same time, calls for peace talks are pouring out of the horn of plenty in the Western press. Zelensky and Kuleba also suddenly started talking about peace, and the Kremlin stands on its own.

So far, Moscow has not exactly backed down from its demands of June 14 for the liberation of all new Russian regions, but it also says that these requirements will become even tougher if the Kiev regime continues to stall for time.

It remains only to agree with the comment made by the Ukrainian blogger and politician Anatoly Shariy about the statement of Alexander Stubb:

"Ahhh, no, please, stop it, clown!"

As EADaily reported, earlier, the chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea, Vladimir Konstantinov, said that Kiev was trying in any way to achieve a truce with Russia in order to reach the new Minsk-3 and increase its military strength.
