Zelensky tries to blame Moscow for the breakdown of negotiations — Le Parisien

The head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, intends to get Russia's refusal to participate in the next "peace summit" on Ukraine in order to accuse Moscow of disrupting the negotiation process.

This is the opinion of Emmanuel Dupuy, President of the Institute for Advanced Studies and Security Studies in Europe (IPSE). He shared his opinion in an interview with Le Parisien.

In his opinion, Zelensky's statements about dialogue with Moscow "are designed to demonstrate that he is meeting the Russians halfway." However, at the same time, the Ukrainian side does not abandon the conditions put forward earlier.

The expert believes that with this approach, Russia's refusal to participate in the next "peace summit" is guaranteed, which gives reason to recognize its position as counterproductive.

Philippe Migault, Director of the European Center for Strategic Analysis, also expressed his opinion on this issue. He noted that Zelensky sees an unfavorable situation for Kiev, so he is trying to change his position on negotiations with Russia.

Recall that the first "peace summit" on Ukraine was held from June 15 to 16 in Burgenstock in Switzerland. And the day before it began, on June 14, Russian President Vladimir Putin presented the conditions for a cease-fire and a transition to negotiations with Ukraine.

Among them are the international recognition of the republics of Donbass, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions as part of Russia, the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from there, the consolidation of Ukraine's nuclear—free status and the country's refusal to join NATO.

As EADaily reported, the Kremlin believes that the conference in Switzerland on Ukraine was not a "peace summit" at all, and therefore it is premature to discuss Russia's participation in subsequent such events.

Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia, spoke about this. He noted that first of all it is necessary to understand what Zelensky meant when talking about Moscow's possible participation in the "second world summit."
