Ukraine has increased consumption of coal by 25.5% in April comparing to April 2017, up to 3.533mn tons, the State Statistics Service reports.
Comparing to March 2018, the coal consumption, on the contrary, decreased by 12.6%, Strana.ua informs.
This March comparing to March 2017, the consumption grew by 41.3%, up to 4mn tons.
EADaily reminds that within first four months of the year, Ukraine spent $1bn to buy 7.4mn tons of coal. It bought coal from Russia worth $643mn, from the USA worth $288mn, from Canada worth $48. Comparing to last year, the expenditures for buying coal grew by 30%. This is caused by the fact that Ukraine increased the imports by 54%. However, this figure is about all types of coal, including the anthracite coal.
