Kazakh diplomats are working hard to prepare a platform for Syrian talks, Yerzhan Ashikbayev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs said at a press briefing on January 11 in Astana.
Ashikbayev assured media that Kazakhstan will not delay with talks and expressed hope that the talks will take place on January 23 as agreed. He could not specify the format of talks saying the issue is within the competence of the sides concerned. The deputy minister said the sides are discussing the format of talks and a clear light will be shed upon the situation shortly.
