Kiev may resort to provocations on May 9, says deputy chair of the parliament of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin. Head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko expects attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces at any moment.
According to Zakharchenko, intensified firing at the self-defense forces’ positions shows that Ukraine is preparing for resuming military actions. “These include attempts of offensive reconnaissance aimed at finding flaws in our defense, and as our experience has shown we should be ready for a more scaled push,” he believes. He stressed that only on April 15 and 16 eight attacks of the Ukrainian forces were fenced off. He called “bald lying” statements that Kiev follows the Minsk Accord.
Denis Pushilin does not rule out that intensification of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ activities may take place on the eve of May 9, the Victory Day. “Provocations are quite probable, but we will try to prevent them,” the deputy speaker of the Donetsk Republic parliament said.
