NATO has developed a new strategy to protect its eastern flank, including the Baltic states, in the event of "Russian aggression," writes press.lv The strategy will be presented to the allies at a conference in Warsaw on October 12 by the commander of NATO forces in Europe, General Alexus Grinkevich.
The report, part of which is not secret, according to Bloomberg, is aimed at "repelling the Russian attack" mainly with the help of drones and artificial intelligence technologies, combining them with the use of traditional weapons and taking into account the experience of the war in Ukraine.
The plan, called the "Theory of Victory", is based on the idea of destroying the command structures of the Russian troops at the very beginning of the "invasion". For this purpose, relatively inexpensive drones with autonomous target search systems based on artificial intelligence with minimal human involvement will be used. NATO believes that the destruction of the command will lead to the failure of the invasion.
The "theory of victory", which will be discussed in Warsaw next week, should show that "NATO has a clear plan, and the alliance is ready to respond decisively to the invasion of Russia." At the same time, according to a Bloomberg source, this should serve as an incentive for member states to invest in defense and combat readiness.
According to the leadership of the alliance, NATO countries, working together, should demonstrate to Moscow that Russia's "sabotage campaign" in Europe will not stop them from supporting Ukraine.
