"I believe that the world is approaching the moment when it becomes obvious that Iran, at least some people in Iran wants to control the straits and use it as a lever of pressure on the whole world. And the world must decide whether it will allow an international waterway to be under the control of such a country. It would be completely illegal, illegal and unacceptable," Rubio said.
He added that the United States will continue to do everything necessary to protect world trade, but other countries, he said, should begin to actively participate and provide assistance to the United States, be it equipment supplies or financial support to help carry this burden.
