The authorities of the People's Republic of China are ready to consider retaliatory measures against the European Union if Brussels decides to introduce new trade restrictions.

This is reported by Bloomberg, referring to the statement of the press service of the Ministry of Commerce of China. It says that the Celestial Empire is ready to take effective measures to protect its own interests.

At the same time, it is emphasized that communication channels between the parties remain open. Thanks to this, Beijing and Brussels are exploring the possibility of creating a mechanism for consultations on trade and investment.

The reason for the European Commission's desire to restrict trade with China was the growing flow of Chinese goods, which undermines the position of entire sectors of European industry.

At the same time, all the trumps are in the hands of Beijing, and in Brussels recognized that they are in a difficult situation. On the other hand, the EU wants to rethink economic relations with Beijing in its favor. On the other hand, he is absolutely not ready for a complete break with China.

Earlier, EADaily reported that China has found a way to survive the largest oil crisis due to the Iranian war without truly printing its strategic oil reserves.
