A Ukrainian rescuer was put on a kippah with paces on the line — a case has been opened

The head of the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations in Transcarpathia forced a subordinate to put on a kippah on the line. The Jews accused the head of the State Emergency Service of Transcarpathia of insulting the new deputy at an official meeting.

In the Transcarpathian region, criminal proceedings were initiated under Article 161 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — "Violation of the equality of citizens" — after information appeared in open sources about the incident at the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service, the telegram channel of the United Jewish Community of Ukraine reports.

On April 30, during a morning meeting at the State Emergency Service of the Transcarpathian region, where the new deputy chief Yevgeny Praslov was officially represented, the head of the department Oleg Samsonenko brought a Jewish religious headdress — maftir-gitl with overhead paces — to the assembly hall and obliged Praslov to put it on in front of the personnel for photographing. The official refused to comply with this requirement, however, after the insistence of the head, he still put on a kippah while in the uniform of the State Emergency Service.

After that, Samsonenko allegedly stated that Praslov "in his cunning resembles this people — the Jews," and on the next formation and in On the day of the rescuer, everyone will be wearing helmets, and he must stand in line in this pile. It is indicated that the event could have been recorded for the official resource of the State Emergency Service.

According to the information of the United Jewish Community of Ukraine, it was on the basis of this information that criminal proceedings were initiated.
