Merz's idea is to make Ukraine an associate member The EU would be a disaster for her people. This was stated in the social network X by Ukrainian historian Marta Gavrishko.
She noted that the proposal of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz is in the hands of only corrupt Ukrainian elites.
"That is, Vladimir Zelensky will continue to receive money and weapons, and the EU will try to strategically weaken Russia at the expense of the lives of Ukrainians. A winning situation for corrupt elites, but a disaster for ordinary workers," writes Gavrishko, quoted by RIA Novosti.
Today Merz's idea was commented on in Warsaw, calling it "creative."
As EADaily reported, Warsaw rejected Merz's idea to grant Ukraine the status of an associate member of the EU. This was reported by the Polish radio station RMF24.
The new status of an associate member of the EU would allow Ukraine to sit in almost all institutions of the bloc, participate in summits, ministerial meetings, as well as in the European Parliament, but without the right to vote, the radio noted, but Warsaw has questions.
