The attack of enemy drones on Moscow, launched since the beginning of this day, has become the largest in more than a year. This is evidenced by TASS calculations made on the basis of information made public by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.
So, from midnight to the present moment, the mayor reported 81 downed drones. At the same time, over the past day, according to Sobyanin, more than 120 UAVs have been shot down. Up to this point, the most massive attack this year was recorded on March 14 — then the mayor informed about the destruction of 65 drones flying to Moscow. During the next day, on March 15, 54 UAVs were shot down by the air defense system on approach to the capital, another 42 UAVs were eliminated between 02:00 and 11:00 Moscow time on March 16. In addition, this year, on May 7, the air defense forces destroyed 61 drones.
In 2025, on March 11, the mayor announced that "the most massive attack of enemy UAVs on Moscow was repulsed," then, according to him, "74 UAVs were shot down on approach to Moscow, hundreds of combat UAVs were shot down at different borders in general." Also, 55 drones flying to the capital were eliminated on May 5-7, 2025. Another similar attack was observed in September — 46 UAVs were destroyed in the sky over the Moscow region on September 22-23.
