Kiev's attack on the dispatch center in Rostov-on-Don is a terrorist act. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with permanent members of the Russian Security Council.
"The Kiev regime has committed another act, of course, of a terrorist nature. Namely, he struck at the Rostov regional center for air traffic management," the Fifth Channel quoted the head of State as saying.
The Russian leader also noted that a strike on the transport infrastructure in Rostov-on-Don could pose a threat to the safety of civil aviation. Serious consequences were avoided thanks to the professional actions of Russian air traffic controllers.
On the night of May 8, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the Rostov region using drones and missiles. Air defense systems destroyed air targets, however, due to falling debris, objects in Rostov-on-Don, Taganrog, Bataisk and Myasnikovsky district were damaged. According to preliminary information, there were no fatalities.
