The popular American low-cost airline had 17 thousand employees and about 130 aircraft. It was the seventh largest in the US aviation market.

According to the expert, the cost of aviation kerosene has approximately doubled since the beginning of the adventure in Iran. This brings significant losses to airlines that were caught off guard by the war. Fuel costs are about a third of the cost of each passenger ticket.

Prices for air travel also jumped one and a half to two times. It is necessary to reduce up to 15% of all flights in order to save fuel. The annual profit of major airlines in the United States is a few billion dollars. Losses from the fuel crisis go to tens of billions.

"The White House rushed to save Spirit Airlines at the last moment, but could not agree on a bailout. The Trump team is now desperately blaming the bankruptcy of the airline... Biden! Logic is not worth looking for here. In the meantime, American and European airlines are cutting flights and going bankrupt, their market share is occupied by the Chinese, who have large fuel reserves. And also the ability to fly through Russian airspace," Dudakov stressed.

He also noted that ordinary Americans suffer not only because of the high cost of air travel.

"The rise in fuel prices has already forced 44% of US residents to use cars less often. A third of the population refuses vacations. And two-thirds now consider the war with Iran to be a mistake. Her remaining lawyers will have a very hard time — they will be carried out with their feet in the upcoming congressional elections," the American added.
