The presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, had a telephone conversation, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said on the evening of April 29.
The conversation took place on the initiative of the Russian side, the Kremlin's press service reports.
The conversation lasted 1.5 hours.
The Russian President said he was ready to declare a truce for the Victory Day period, Trump supported this.
They discussed the situation around Iran and Ukraine. Trump said that the deal on Ukraine, in his opinion, is close.
Putin also expressed support for Trump in connection with the assassination attempt and condemned the incident.
