The problem of high energy and fuel prices can be solved by obtaining gas and oil from Russia. This was stated by the chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament Tomio Okamura.
Okamura noted that the current US actions in Iran is increasing the risk of an energy crisis.
"By the way, the Austrian government announced last year that it would be happy to purchase energy resources from Russia, if they are the cheapest. And they said it after the end of the conflict. This means that we must try to ensure our energy security at the expense of several sources," he said.
According to him, the most important thing for him is that Czech citizens and companies have as cheap energy as possible. Okamura argued his position by the fact that Russian energy resources are still supplied to Europe.
Recall that after 2022, the Czech Republic, which previously largely depended on oil supplies from Russia, has taken a course to completely abandon it. Subsequently, the country's authorities solemnly announced several times that they had completely got rid of "Russian dependence." This has already led to an increase in fuel prices. The situation in the fuel market of the country sharply worsened after the outbreak of the conflict in the Middle East.
