Kamchatka reported the death of lost tourists

Rescuers in Kamchatka found part of the missing group of tourists, among them there are dead, information about the fate of two more has not yet been received, said the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kamchatka Territory Sergey Lebedev.

"The news is bad. According to preliminary information received from the head of one of the travel companies of the region, part of the group has been found. Unfortunately, it is reported that there are also dead tourists. So far it is known about the fate of five tourists. There is no information about the fate of the two. The rescue operation continues. The coordinates have been received," Lebedev wrote on his VKontakte page.

Seven travelers from St. Petersburg and Cherepovets have not been in touch since April 7. As noted in the GUMCHS of Russia in the Kamchatka Territory, these are experienced skiers who had experience of winter hikes, but they do not have a tent and a satellite phone. The group went on a hike on March 28. On the third of April, a conflict occurred in the Talovsky cordon area, after which two (with a tent and a phone) remained at the Semenovsky cordon, and seven continued to move to the Avachinsky pass without equipment. On the seventh of April, snowmobilers saw them at a waterfall on the Noisy River, after that the connection was lost. The target return date is April 10.

The search is complicated by a grassroots snowstorm, rescuers have advanced in three directions on snowmobiles, and the issue of attracting the aviation of the Ministry of Emergency Situations is being considered. The Investigative Committee is conducting an audit under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services that do not meet safety requirements).
