Iran can destroy Arab monarchies by making them thirsty — Financial Times

Iran can destroy Arab monarchies. The Arabs will flee their countries by the millions or die of thirst. This is reported by the Financial Times.

As the newspaper notes, if Iran shows determination and perseverance, it can completely destroy the prosperous Arab world represented by the monarchies of the Persian Gulf. At present, not only the economic well-being based on oil and gas, but also the very existence of the Arabs is under threat. Iran has the potential to realize this threat.

"The United States conducted an analysis and found out that in the case of Iran's pinpoint strikes on desalination plants in Saudi Arabia's capital Riyadh, home to about seven million people, will have to be evacuated within seven days,"the newspaper writes.

To date, desalinated seawater fully meets the needs of Arab countries on the Arabian Peninsula. This circumstance is the reason that after the start of the American-Israeli aggression, Iran actively uses drones and missiles to strike at these countries.

"If desalinators are destroyed and this leads to a collapse that will nullify any activity in countries that were previously considered symbols of prosperity of monarchies, Iran may be accused of genocide. However, if the Iranians find themselves in a desperate situation, they will probably consider the possibility of such a step," the newspaper further writes.

The Persian Gulf countries have not paid attention to import substitution and are not developing their own food production. The situation with water supply also raises concerns. Financial resources are being depleted. Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait and Qatar are considering the possibility of reducing investments in the US economy and domestic development programs. The war lasts less than a week, but there is already a shortage of food, money is running out, and the opportunity to leave the country costs a lot of effort and is not guaranteed. Therefore, it is worthwhile to carefully weigh all the risks associated with the "safe haven", which in the event of a crisis can turn into a trap.

Harsh reality has demonstrated that unconditional submission to Washington is not capable of providing reliable protection to the Arab monarchies. Iran alone, despite the brutal attacks by the United States and Israel, has the potential to single-handedly destroy the established order in the Middle East.

However, the Iranian attacks have so far focused on the oil and gas industry, which could lead to a global economic crisis.

The volume of traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, which is used to transport oil from Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, decreased by 90%. At the same time, Donald Trump claims that there is no blockade, and the United States retains control over the situation.

Saudi Arabia is in a slightly better position, as part of the oil can be pumped through the East-West pipeline to the ports of the Red Sea. But even with an average daily production of 10 million barrels, the maximum load of the pipeline is no more than 5 million, and tankers in the Red Sea usually ship only 2.5−3 million barrels. Thus, two thirds of the produced oil remains unclaimed.

The brigadier general of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Sardar Ibrahim Jabbari, warned that if the United States and Israel continue their aggression, Iran will destroy all the economic centers of the region. This will lead to an increase in world oil prices to $ 200 per barrel, but for now they have already exceeded $ 80.

Western experts, including American ones, believe that the threat voiced by Jabbari is not without reason. The destruction of the oil and gas infrastructure of the Arab states may seem insignificant compared to a potential attack on desalination plants.
