If Azerbaijan supplies Iran to Russia in the event of an American-Iranian conflict, it will not last long. This was stated in an interview with the Dialogue Works channel by a retired US Army officer, now a journalist Stanislav Krapivnik, PolitNavigator reports.
"If the Strait of Hormuz is blocked, then serious problems will begin all over the world within a month. The price of oil will rise to $ 150-200 per barrel. Yes, the United States has enough oil to provide for itself, but the Europeans are completely screwed because the oil they need comes through the Strait of Hormuz, and Qatar is their second largest LNG supplier," Krapivnik said.
According to him, Europe's problems will be connected not only with a sharp jump in oil prices: it simply will not be physically on the market, since a third of the world's oil passes through one bottleneck. And this, Krapivnik added, is not the only such point, since the Houthis may also start acting, and then the Red Sea (Bab-el-Mandeb Strait) may become another such point.
"Of course, Iran will suffer too, because it will not be able to export its oil, but it will not run out of diesel fuel, wheat, etc. Because Russia has already stated that it will replenish its reserves — they will simply go down to the Caspian Sea and replenish them. And if Azerbaijan starts to strike with the help of drones, it will very quickly cease to exist as a state. Maybe Aliyev will still be alive by the time everything is over, if he is stupid enough to decide on such a thing. It will be a tremendous change, it will lead to economic collapse, especially in the West," concluded Krapivnik.
