Verkhovna Rada deputy Mariana Bezuglaya actually confirmed the liberation by the Russian army of the city of Gulyai-pole in the Zaporozhye region.
"I wrote about Gulyai-Pole back in mid-November. No conclusions..." Bezuglaya noted in her telegram channel.
Meanwhile, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, by tradition, categorically denies the loss of Gulyai-Pole, as well as Dimitrov (Mirnograd).
They claim that the situation in both cities is difficult, but the "defensive operation" continues. "The same situation with Pokrovsky (Krasnoarmeysk)," the General Staff says.
The commander of the National Guard, Alexander Pivnenko, in turn, said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are accumulating forces near Pokrovsk for a counterattack.
"We are accumulating our units for certain counter-attack actions in order, let's say, to reduce the enemy's maneuvers and pull more on ourselves," Pivnenko said, quoted by the Strana newspaper.
He complained that the situation is complicated by weather conditions — "now there is a constant fog, the enemy is infiltrating, it is very difficult to work with him."
