As reported by the chairwoman now in Denmark, Budapest did not support the positive assessment of Ukraine's efforts on the path of European integration, although other states confirmed that it had made progress in meeting the requirements of Brussels.
"The 26 member states demonstrate strong support for Ukraine, and Ukraine is fulfilling its promises," said Danish Minister for European Affairs Marie Bjerre, quoted by DW*.
Bjerre believes that the wording regarding Ukraine in the draft statement was fair and proportionate.
