The American delegation at today's meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin will be represented by special envoy of the American leader Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner is the son—in-law of US President Donald Trump. This was announced at a briefing by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.

"After 17.00 Moscow time, the Russian-American meeting will begin. Putin in the Kremlin will receive Mr. Witkoff, the chief American negotiator on Ukrainian affairs, who will arrive here. And Kushner will also be with him. A conversation will take place," the press secretary said.

To the clarifying question of whether someone else from the United States will be present at the meeting, Peskov clarified:

"No, there will be no more [American representatives]. Translator only."

The meeting will last as long as it takes, the Kremlin spokesman said.

"No, [the talks between Putin and Witkoff will last as long as it takes]," he explained, answering the relevant question.

As reported, the main topic of the meeting of the parties is the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, including the US proposals on this issue.

EADaily adds: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is in Moscow at the same time as Trump's special envoy.

Today, a few hours before the scheduled meeting between Putin and Witkoff in the Kremlin, Wang Yi held consultations with Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu. The interaction of the special services of the Russian Federation and China, as well as "topical issues of international and regional security" were discussed.

Witkoff, who is visiting Moscow for the sixth time since the beginning of the year, brought Putin an updated version of the peace plan, which he discussed with representatives of Ukraine in Florida over the weekend. According to ABC News sources, following the results of the negotiations, a key territorial issue remained uncoordinated.
