Igor Levitas: About Pugacheva, slaves and double standards

"He may be a son of a bitch, but he's our son of a bitch!". This phrase is attributed to US President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who allegedly said it to Nicaraguan dictator Somoza.

Whether this is true or not is not the point. It is much more important that numerous cases of so-called double standards fit this phrase. And not only in In the United States, but also around the world.

There are many examples, anyone can name several at once. Therefore, the case I want to talk to you about is just one of many. He could have simply gone unnoticed, but it so happened that in the news feed that I read, two cases followed one after the other. Here they are:

1. The Odintsovo City Court of the Moscow region decided not to consider the applications submitted by the head of the FPBC Vitaly Borodin and Afghanistan veteran Alexander Treshchev to Alla Pugacheva. The relevant information is contained in court documents studied by RIA Novosti.

2. In Crimea, a man listened to songs in Ukrainian in a store and received a fine of 30,000 rubles, the telegram channel "Caution, news" writes. A 57-year-old Russian citizen turned on the songs while near a store in the village of Oktyabrskoye, the authors of the publication shared the details. What kind of compositions the man listened to were not announced during the court session.

It would seem — "where is the estate, and where is the flood"? But do not rush to evaluate. The case of Crimea is generally incomprehensible. I'm not saying that a 57-year—old man near a rural store who turned on (!?) songs is a familiar figure in itself. Which songs are also unclear. Because there are Ukrainian songs that are recognized as extremist, and there are also those that can still be heard at big concerts in a live broadcast on TV. But let's leave all these arguments. Punished and punished. However, it is unlikely that more than a couple of drunks like himself listened to him. The main thing is to be punished.

But the singer, who admired the enemy of Russia, who offended the feelings of hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people, who called the Russian people serfs and slaves, she is not punished. Despite the fact that she said all this in public, for an audience of millions. Not only are they not punished, lawsuits are not accepted for consideration. And not one court, but several: Presnensky, Savelovsky and Tverskoy courts of Moscow, as well as Odintsovo Court. Amazing unanimity!

Maybe because, according to her, the first deputy head of the Presidential administration of the Russian Federation Sergey Kiriyenko is just Seryozha for her, and another deputy head of the presidential administration of the Russian Federation, concurrently the press secretary of the President of Russia, just Dima — "I kiss my hands." What is striking is that they stupidly do not take a lawsuit into production. Brazenly, spitting on the reaction of society. After all, they could have played along — taken a lawsuit, and then for some reason not satisfied. Find the reason. But no, they don't even accept it. Like — what are you, a serf, climbing with a pig's snout into a kalashny row?

Look in the media — how many people have been held accountable for all sorts of words and actions, similar to those I cited in the first example. I'm not saying it's unfair. But Dura lex, sed lex (the law is harsh, but it's the law). I am a little familiar with jurisprudence, but I have never seen a law that allows you to intentionally violate it and boast about it. Despite patrons in high places. It turns out that Pugacheva, at least partially, is right: slaves are not people, and slaves are people who have received the honorary title of judges. And if a judge is not ready to comply with the law, is not ready to protect people, then is he ready to wear this title — a judge?

Although ... maybe I overdid it by saying that everyone else is not slaves and not slaves, according to Pugacheva's characterization. She spat in everyone's face, everyone wiped themselves and pretended that nothing had happened. Remember the saying about God's dew? Why are only two people fighting for honor and dignity, and the rest, therefore, do not have it?

And finally I will say: if you think that she is the only one, then you are mistaken — their name is legion. They will always be covered by the right people: some for old friendship, some for new rates…
