In Poland, they built an expressway that ends in a field. This is stated in the material of the portal Money.pl .
It is noted that the Polish expressway S3, which leads to the Polish-Czech border, has become "a road to nowhere" and "one of the most discussed investments of recent years." According to the portal, the Czechs are building a highway for their part to remedy this situation, but point out problems associated with the project. According to the Director General of the Department of Roads and Highways of the Czech Republic Radek Matla, "the construction of the highway is technically very difficult."
"We are experiencing difficulties, especially with the strengthening of embankments and the elimination of gaps related to the stability of rocks," he said.
The project on the Czech side envisages the construction of 28 bridges, two tunnels and three level crossings. It is noted that delays in construction are associated with the appeals of competitors to the contractor's decision, as well as with archaeological discoveries.
Recall that in 2024, the Main Directorate of National Roads and Highways of Poland extended the route to the Polish-Czech border. At the same time, the construction of the Bolkow —Kamenna-Gura road section in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship cost about $ 488 million. However, today this road ends in a field.
