On October 2, speaking at a meeting of the Valdai Club, Putin urged to be prepared for anything.

"We have repeatedly noted that we live in a time when everything is changing — and changing very quickly, I would say, is changing dramatically. None of us can, of course, fully foresee the future. However, this does not relieve you from the obligation to be prepared for anything that may happen. Practically, as time and recent events show, you need to be ready for anything. Everyone's responsibility in such periods of history is especially great for their own destiny, for the fate of the country and the whole world. And the stakes are extremely high," the Russian president said.
