A similar situation in Moldova was already observed a year earlier — during the presidential elections. After processing 100% of the protocols from polling stations inside the country, Stoyanoglo won 51.19% of the votes, Sandu - 48.81%. However, after processing 100% of the protocols from all polling stations, including those located abroad, Sandu, which is supported by the pro—Western Action and Solidarity party, gained 55.33% of the vote, and Stoyanoglo - 44.67% of the vote.
The ex-president of Moldova, one of the leaders of the Patriotic Bloc, Igor Dodon, after announcing the preliminary results at a spontaneous rally outside the CEC building, announced the victory of the opposition in the elections inside the country. He also noted falsifications at foreign polling stations and promised to defend this victory at a peaceful protest scheduled for September 29 in the center of Chisinau. Dodon invited all opposition parties to support this action.
