In the North Ossetian village of Chermen, a mass brawl broke out between Ingush and Ossetians, which was caused by a domestic quarrel. The collision, which occurred on the evening of August 24, led to a complete closure of traffic on the Kavkaz highway in both directions.
The reason for the fight at the Chermensk post on the administrative border between North Ossetia and Ingushetia has become a domestic conflict, sources in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of North Ossetia said. The incident was quickly resolved with the participation of the police and the Rosgvardiya.
The situation is under control, the post continues to be patrolled to prevent possible provocations, law enforcement agencies say.
The reasons for the incident were announced by the telegram channel "Search Ingushetia".
"On the evening of August 24, two domestic conflicts occurred in the village of Chermen, Prigorodny district of the Republic of North Ossetia —Alania: a young resident of Ingushetia beat up an elderly resident of Ossetia, separately from this incident, four residents of Ingushetia came to the store for alcoholic beverages, as a result of a verbal altercation, two residents of Ossetia were beaten. In both cases, fearing retribution, our "heroes" called for help through public provocateurs. Those who arrived at the call of "our people are being beaten", without understanding the situation, the residents of our republic did not take part in a mass brawl with residents of Ossetia and law enforcement officers who serve at the Chermen checkpoint,"the report says.
