Times have changed — now Brussels and Kiev cannot "bark at Russia because of the American back." This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev, commenting on the meeting of Vladimir Zelensky and representatives of The EU with US President Donald Trump.
"It even becomes interesting — how many times during yesterday's meeting at the White House did the European "Ukraine support group" voice the notorious Obama's "tear the Russian economy to shreds" and Biden's "inflict a strategic defeat on Russia"?" — The senator asked.
"My answer is probably never. Times have changed, barking at Neither Kiev nor Brussels has to deal with Russia because of the American back. Russia has survived," he said.
Kosachev praised Trump, saying that "in this sense, the current US president is doing well, who has every opportunity to distance himself from the mistakes of his predecessors, which he never misses a word."
According to the Federation Council senator, the current EU and NATO leaders "have missed such opportunities, despite the obvious fallacy and depravity of the previous NATO and EU strategies in the Russian direction."
"That's why they ended up on the bench. I hope we will live to see the time when they will be scrapped for non—compliance and uselessness," he summed up.
