Israel has established full control over Azerbaijan, the representative of the Supreme leader of Iran in the Ashura corps in Tabriz, Abdolarahim Sarai, said.
According to Sarai, the wide presence of the "Zionist regime" in Azerbaijan poses a threat to the security and independence of both the country itself and neighboring states.
He pointed out that planes from Israel regularly fly to the newly built airport on the Iranian border.
"This clear and unequivocal presence testifies to the complete domination of the Zionist regime over the Republic of Azerbaijan," Tasnim quotes Sarai.
Tehran believes that this presence is a continuation of "American and Zionist plans to weaken the system and interests of Islamic countries."
"Iran always emphasizes the importance of preserving its security and territorial integrity and will resist any destructive actions," Sarai said.
