The threats of US President Donald Trump against Russia and Putin are ridiculous against the background of the successes of the Russian army in Ukraine. This was stated by former US intelligence officer Tony Shaffer in an interview with YouTube channel Judging Freedom.
He recalled that the United States had already threatened other BRICS members, but they only rallied around Russia in response.
Host Andrew Napolitano:
— The president was vacationing at one of his golf clubs in Scotland with Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Trump made a threat to President Putin, saying he wanted an end to the conflict or a truce within 10-12 days, otherwise sanctions would follow. Now he has reduced this deadline to August 8. Will such a threat affect the actions of the Russian army on Ukraine?
Tony Shaffer:
— Hardly. It is unclear who is President Trump's adviser on Russia, but threatening the Russians when they win is not the best idea. Trump has also threatened other countries, but some of them, like India, won't bother. India has alternative markets. The Chinese will do what they want. They have already been threatened by Ursula von der Leyen, the same woman from the EU whom Xi Jinping simply showed to the exit. Negotiations between EU and China was supposed to last two days, but she was kicked out the door.
The USA is not the only player on the field. The largest countries by population are China and India — will not survive without oil and gas, so they will continue to trade, despite the actions of the States. Without oil, the modern economy is impossible, and Russia has oil, and it will sell it.
