People's Artist of Russia Nadezhda Babkina does not need the title of Prima Donna, which was previously assigned to the runaway from Alla Pugacheva of Russia. She stated this to the portal aif.ru .
"I don't need other people's titles. I am Nadia Babkina, I don't need to be compared with anyone," the singer urged.
She stressed that she allows herself to be compared only with other great singers of her genre, for example, with Lyudmila Zykina, Olga Voronets and Lydia Ruslanova.
As reported by EADaily, earlier singer Prokhor Chaliapin said that the best direction for musical creativity is folk songs. Not a single feast in Russia cannot do without a folk song — it is a unifying creativity.
Chaliapin also said that the incomes of the singers who received the love of the audience through the performance of folk songs will not compare with the earnings of any popular pop artists.
"We should be closer to the people. We have our richest folk singers. Nadezhda Kadysheva and Nadezhda Babkina. They do not advertise, but this is a fairly well—known fact," concluded Chaliapin.
