Moscow is monitoring Japan's actions aimed at supporting the criminal Kiev regime and warns of the harmful consequences of such a short-sighted policy.
The corresponding statement was voiced to RIA Novosti by the Russian Ambassador to Tokyo Nikolai Nozdrev.
"We consistently publicly warn Tokyo that joining the adventures and crimes of the Kiev regime will have long—term and very sensitive consequences for it," the diplomat said.
He recalled that Japan has joined the work of the NATO Center for Assistance and Training in the field of security for Ukraine, coordinating military assistance, including the supply of weapons, repair of equipment and training of soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Bilateral relations have objectively experienced an unprecedented decline, reaching the lowest point in the history of diplomatic relations between our countries. The responsibility for this lies entirely with Tokyo, which, after the start of a special military operation on Ukraine, in line with the so—called all-Western solidarity, went to the destruction of the foundation of ties that had been diligently built for decades," Nozdryov said.
He stressed that with such a position of the Japanese side, there are no prospects for a return to a constructive dialogue with Moscow. It will be possible to talk about it only after Japan abandons its unfriendly line in practice, the ambassador concluded.
Earlier, Japanese MP Muneo Suzuki called on the Ukrainian authorities to recognize their position, abandon aggressive rhetoric and agree to negotiations with Russia so as not to repeat the fate of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, on which the United States dropped atomic bombs in August 1945.
