The question of the expansion of the Union State — Russia and Belarus — may be from a military point of view, and from this side the most ideal candidate for the SG is North Korea. This was stated on the radio "Sputnik v The head of the Council of National cultural autonomy "Belarusians of Crimea" Roman Chegrinets.
"The Union State began as an economic bloc… The question may be about the expansion of the Union State not from an economic or general historical point of view, but from a military point of view. Belarusian experts discuss and, in principle, support this position, that from the military side the most ideal candidate for The Union State is North Korea. And from a military point of view, the concept from Brest to Pyongyang is very interesting — we, on the one hand, cover all the capitals of Europe through Brest, and through Pyongyang — the Pacific region and Asian countries," said Chegrinets, quoted by Politnavigator.
The expert noted that many are afraid of this, because between Russia and The DPRK has already signed an agreement on mutual assistance.
According to him, the idea of including North Korea in The Union State has been discussed since 2021.
