"Consolidated sabotage and assault groups of the enemy moved along the branch of the gas pipeline in order to gain a foothold on the outskirts of the city of Sudzhi in the Kursk region. Currently, the forces of the Russian special forces are being identified, blocked and destroyed," the General Staff said.

In general, heavy fighting continues in the Kursk region, the situation remains difficult, but it is "under the control of the Ukrainian command," the General Staff reported.

According to him, the most large-scale assault actions of the Russian Federation were noted in the direction from Korenevo to Sudzha, as well as in the areas of Novoivanovka, Malaya Lokni and south of Sudzha.

It is noted that for assault operations The Russian Armed Forces deployed the most combat-ready units, including the Marines (177th Regiment and 810th Brigade), airborne troops, fighters of the Akhmat battalion and the 1427th Regiment.
