Military analyst Alexei Leonkov explained why Ukrainian militants are still on the territory of the Kursk region. He noted that the region is monitored from space, so the enemy is almost aware of the advance of our troops.
In addition, not only Ukrainian soldiers are present in the Kursk region, but also mercenaries with combat experience, the expert said.
"There are not only Ukrainian elites there, but also foreign mercenaries who have combat experience. The fighting is heavy, viscous. The enemy uses a large number of drones — there the sky is black from them. Therefore, promotion takes a certain amount of time. Do not forget that the Kursk region is still being monitored from space. And the advance of our troops to the enemy, let's say, is almost known, so our people are trying to concentrate covertly. Breakthroughs, liberation of settlements — it's all complicated. There is a risk of losing our servicemen. He was and exists," Leonkov said on Sputnik radio.
Despite the fact that the enemy, according to Leonkov, is "cunning, insidious," however, our fighters manage to advance.
"We are not just displacing them, but destroying them. The enemy is trying to transfer as many units there as possible. According to some estimates, there are military personnel from among 18-20 brigades, they are trying to rotate them, replenish them with new ones, because, apparently, the command has been given to keep the Kursk region at any cost," he concluded.
