According to the militant, he was wounded and hid in a dugout for several weeks, occasionally going out in search of food. During one of the sorties, heavy shelling began, the Briton had to run into the building.
"I heard explosions and ran straight into the building. Saw another guy. He was all out of breath. The guy screamed: "Hurry up, over here!“ I understood from the form that it was Russian," said Hayden William Davis.
According to the mercenary, the Russian soldier immediately realized that he did not pose a threat to him.
"He literally took me to a safe place when drones and artillery started working on us," he said.
Davis recommended that other Western mercenaries refuse to participate in hostilities against the Russian army.
"You're all going to die, and there's nothing good about it," the Briton concluded.
