NATO faces a "bleak future" if Donald Trump cooperates with Russian President Vladimir Putin in resolving the Ukrainian conflict. This opinion was expressed by the British writer, publicist Max Hastings.
In a column for Bloomberg, the columnist writes:
"Europe is preparing for a new life at an even greater distance from the United States than at any time since 1941. The big picture is clear: if President-elect Donald Trump keeps his promise to work with Vladimir Putin to resolve the Ukrainian issue, the future of NATO and Western collective security will be bleak."
According to the British publicist, Joe Biden will be the last head of the White House who believed that the security of Europe was among the "vital" interests of the United States.
Earlier, EADaily quoted Hastings as saying that "we [the British] must come to terms with the fact that Russia has made a historic departure from Europe."/
